Paleobiology Collections

UNM curates a small, but regionally important collection of invertebrate, plant, and trace fossils spanning the Phanerozoic.

UNM Natural History Science Center (NHSC)

The former UNM Biology Annex is currently under renovation to become the new "forever home" of the UNM Paleobiology Collections! The building was designed by renowned architect John Gaw Meem in 1948 and is on the New Mexico Historical Registry. The renovated NHSC will include enlarged, climate-controlled space for paleobiology collections, a new fossil prep lab, analytical space, innovative classroom and outreach space for teaching specimen-based science, and room for students - we can't wait to move in circa the end of 2020!
